SGA AWARD PRESENTATION
We are pleased to announce that the 2024 “Some Gave All Award”, will be
presented to the surviving family members in honor of Donald Corbett, who lost
his life while defending FSB Airborne on May 13, 1969. Note: FSB Airborne was in the A Shau Valley near the Laotian border and strategically located near several Battalion sized NVA units. The surrounding area was covered by dense jungle foliage that was so close to the outer firebase defensive positions which provided excellent concealment for the NVA sappers. |
ELECTION OF NEW OFFICERS
Prior to selecting the new officers VP Don Wood & I
strongly recommend holding a general membership meeting to discuss future
strategies with respect to: 1. How the organization should be structured while considering the average age of our membership, are they mobile, and or do they want to continue to attend future reunions? 2. Do we schedule formal reunions every two years or schedule more casual events more often? 3. Continue to plan local trips, tours etc. or do members prefer to meet at the hotel hospitality room, pool area, bar etc? 4. How do we keep the reunions affordable? Do we consider fund raisers etc. to subsidize the costs? Annual gift giving or sponsorship? 5. Any other ideas are welcome and open for discussion. |
