Goosen of 1963 Jarman St., Muskegon, former residents of Riverton Township, died Friday, March 13, of wounds sustained Feb. 7 while involved in operations as a machine gunner in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, 501st Infantry. He was born on Feb. 13, 1950, in Riverton Township in Mason County. He was graduated from Muskegon High School in 1968 and was employed at Brunswick Corp., prior to entering the service in June 1969. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Muskegon Heights. Survivors include his parents; a brother, Kenneth, of Muskegon; a sister, Miss Debora Goosen, at home; and his grandfather, Alex Kurowski of Chicago. Requiem high mass will be sung at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights. ==== Muskegon County has recorded its 51st fatality of servicemen to die in Vietnam. The latest military victim was Army Spec. 4 Robert H. Goosen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley H. Goosen.
