GARY DUANE FORTNER

Gary was part of C CO, 87TH ENG BN, 35TH ENG GROUP, 18TH ENG BDE. He was killed
in the April 6, 1968 major clash with a sizable NVA unit 35 miles northwest of
Hue in Quang Tri Province. Alpha Company lost 11 soldiers in this event. See more about that
incident here. I'm not sure why Gary was listed as an Alpha Original, but he was so I created this page for him. The Coffelt Database listed his MOS as 11B. |
I could not find a list of medals and citations but he did receive a Purple Heart. |
