03 February 1968 SP4 James B. Brandon earned the Purple Heart (Posthumously) for military merit and for wounds received which resulted in his death from wounds received while on a military aircraft on courier mission and hit by hostile small arms gun fire in the Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam. He was admitted to a military hospital where he later died. |

Vietnam on 12-15-1967. He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Brandon of Chicago,
