Raymond was the son of Benedetto and Elena D'Angelo of Flushing New York and he entered service, (Selected Service) in the US Army. He arrived in Vietnam for duty on May 2, 1968 where he was assigned to and served with B Troop, 2d Squadron, 17th Calvary, 101st Airborne Division, USARV. During a combat operation in Thua Tien Province, a hostile force was encountered on May 28 and during the ensuing fire fight PFC D'Angelo was killed in action as a result of fragmentation wounds from a hostile explosive device. |
