John "Doc" Bunge was a medic in Aug 68-Dec 68 assigned to 3rd platoon. He deployed late 68 so I included him on our Avenger list in lieu of the Originals. He died Died of a heart attack on Oct 20 2019. |

Ernest “John” Bunge passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 20, 2019. He was born on January 23, 1949. Son of Edward and Adella Bunge. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Beal, daughter Melissa, and son Troy Bunge. John joined the U.S. Army from 1966-1968. He was a combat medic and paratrooper in Vietnam. He later joined the National Guard Company F and served with them for 20 years. Before retirement, John worked as a master car mechanic and later worked at U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command (TACOM). |
