JIMMY JAYROE

Jimmy was with us in 1971. I did not find his name on a Roster, but we had documentation that listed him as Robert H Jayroe (Bobby). Jim is from Florence, SC. Lives in Mullins, SC. We knew him as Jimmy.

Here is a pic of a guy we knew as Jimmy Jayroe (don’t remember him as Robert) in foreground with no sleeves and mustache. This was in my pics on our site. I remember him well and he was from SC.

I wonder if he took on his brother’s name? I can’t imagine there being more than one Jayroe in our Company. Here’s what I found:

Lillian H. Jayroe (the mother) September 30, 1920- October 19, 2013 from Mullins, S.C. Mrs. Jayroe leaves behind to cherish her memories three sons: James R. Jayroe, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Myrtle Beach, William H. Jayroe of Marion, and Robert H. Jayroe of Mullins.

I’m sure that the pic is Jimmy Jayroe, I remember him well. In the 80s I was on a golf trip to Myrtle Beach and when we were checking in hotel I heard this unmistakable voice……I turned around and there was Jimmy Jayroe working the counter. He had an unmistakable voice a bit gay and prissy. We reminisced briefly about VN and I always remembered the chance encounter. Mullins is near Myrtle. Not sure of the name puzzle but Robert at age 71 would be right on.
