PFC John A. Maressa arrived in Vietnam in 1968 and was assigned to A/2-501 IN, 2nd platoon. He deployed 22 Oct 1968. John was on our "Roster Number 5" dated 5 April 1969. I included him on our Avenger list in lieu of the Originals. John was from New Jersey but lived in Kissimee, FL |

OBITUARY |
John A. Maressa, 75, of Columbus, NJ, passed away on Friday,
November 6, 2020, at Wynwood Rahabilitation and Healthcare, Cinnaminson,
NJ. He was born in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Notre Dame High
School. John later settled in Columbus with his family becoming a
lifelong resident. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. John was a decorated veteran, with 3 Bronze Stars with Valor, and multiple other medals and awards. John retired as a Vocational Counselor for the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections, at the Southern State Prison, Maurice River, NJ, where he worked for many years. He is survived by his wife, Laura Rotes Maressa; his daughters and their spouses, Marla Dergalis and Alex Dergalis, Melissa Maressa and Chris De Jesus; his brother, Vincent Maressa, and his wife Arlene; his five grandchildren, John Fasti Jr., Gabrielle Fasti, Gianna De Jesus, Chris De Jesus Jr., Ava De Jesus; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. |
