A graveside service has been set for Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00
P.M. in the Vernon Cemetery, Coweta, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held
from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Dowdy-Marker Funeral Home, 201
West Commercial, Haskell, Oklahoma. Larry Wayne Terry was born June 7, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Bill and Ima D (Wright) Terry. He died April 26, 2021 at his home in Haskell, Oklahoma. Larry graduated from Coweta High School in 1967. He and Joyce Whitecotton were married March 22, 1968. He was a proud United States Army Veteran having served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam from July 1969 to July 1970. After leaving the Army, he started working at Okiebug Tackle store, and then after a few years he started his own business, the Okiebug Rod and Reel Repair shop. He retired from Baker Oil Tools after 28 years. Larry had many skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and furniture making, most learned from his dad while building their home in Coweta. This time in his life was some of his most treasured memories. He loved traveling, especially with Jeanne and Chet, going to the beach and camping in the mountains in Pagosa Springs Colorado and Chicken Creek on Lake Tenkiller with the whole gang. He also loved the kids coming for Sunday lunch and visiting. Larry was preceded in death by one son, Scott Terry, his parents, Bill Terry and Ima D Holmes, one brother, Brian Terry, his sister-in-law, Brenda Terry, one nephew, Andrew Foster, and a great nephew, Hunter James Rose. Surviving are his wife of over 53 years, Joyce, one son, Shawn Terry and Kellie Day , his daughter, Stefanie Terry and Mike McNeal, one granddaughter Sydney Terry, who he bragged about her accomplishments to anyone that would listen, his bonus kid (nephew), Lee Reinhardt and family, his sisters; Janice Price and husband Danny, Patsy Foster and husband Rick, Patty Martin and husband Ronnie, one brother, Terence Terry and wife Cheryl, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Chet Ridley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews , bonus grandkids and cousins. |
