OBITUARY GREENVIEW, IL - Scott A. Brindley, 64, died at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Scott was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y., the son of LaMotte and Carol Roth Brindley. He married Miriam Holzimmer in 1970 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Scott was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, receiving his degree in Communications and Christian Education. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 1st Airborne during Vietnam. Scott enjoyed reading, sketching, oil painting, gardening, camping and traveling. His life exemplified his love for Christ and he demonstrated that love in his care for others. Scott had the heart and the ability to see the potential in anyone. He was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wife, Miriam "Mim" Brindley of Greenview; two daughters, Megan Brindley (fiancé, Matt Crisp) of Athens and Allison Daley of Springfield; five grandchildren: Kayla, Anna, Alexis, Kaydence and Elizabeth; one sister, Nancy Timmer (companion, Duane Robbins) of Allegan, Mich.; two nieces, Marti and Stephanie; three nephews: Jonathan, Marc and Matt; and the Dietlin family of Ohio. |
