SP4 HERBERT C WILLIAMS
|
SP4 Herbert C. Williams arrived at Fort Campbell, KY and was assigned to A/2-501 IN. He deployed with A/2-501 IN to Vietnam, December 1967. Williams died: November 4, 1968, at Thua Thien, South Vietnam due to hostile fire. |
Herbert C Williams was on our March 1968 roster. There is a question about the accuracy of Herbert's unit. In the Coffelt Database, he is shown on DA2496 to have been KIA on 11/4/1968 while serving with the C/1-327 IN, 101st Airborne. I did a date search in the Coffelt database, and there is only one Herbert Williams killed on 11/04/1968 who was born 04/21/1946. He is buried in the SPRINGHILL CEMETERY, HALLSVILLE, TX. Our Alpha Original records (Floyd Turnley) show he was KIA on 11/4/1968 with A/2-501 IN. The only unresolved question for me is did Herbert serve with Alpha Company, 2/501? |
