Shaw arrived at Fort Campbell, KY in 1967 and was assigned to 3rd Platoon. He deployed with A Company as 3rd Platoon Leader to South Vietnam, December 1967. CPT Shaw deployed again 1/16/1970 with B/1-6 IN, 198th INF BDE where he was killed December 6, 1970 by a booby-trapped 105mm round in a hedgerow 13km N-NE of Quang Ngai City. Shaw may have been the last Fort Campbell Original to die in Vietnam. |
