OBITUARY |
Avery Malcom Dalton, 77, of Spout Spring, passed away Friday,
December 3, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of
the late Doris Franklin Dalton. Born on August 26, 1944, in Halifax
County, he was the son of the late Jessie Bennett Dalton and Homie Eanes
Dalton. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and retired from
Archer Creek Foundry with over 30 years of service. Avery was a U.S.
Army veteran having served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division
Alpha Avengers. He is survived by one son, Tommy Dalton and wife, Melanie of Lynchburg; two daughters, Delores Jones and husband, Kenneth of Appomattox, and Melinda Amos and husband, Ben of Drakes Branch; step-daughter, Linda Almond and husband, Donnie of Appomattox; daughter-in-law, Janice Torrence of Spout Spring; a brother, Alton Dalton and wife, Gloria of Spout Spring; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Angela Ranson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Frank Torrence; four sisters, Janie Blanks, Frances Motley, Lillian Barksdale, and Effie Epperson; and one brother, Gordon Dalton.
