Charles Small

CHARLES SMALL

Charles Small was on our "Roster Number 5" dated 5 April 1969. He deployed 15 Oct 68. I included him on our Avenger list in lieu of the Originals. He is from East Orange, NJ.

As I remember we called him "Smally" most of the time.

He was 3rd squad (3rd Plt) M60 gunner most of the time he was in Alpha.

He liked vocal group/doo wop music like I did and we and other guys would harmonize in the rear on occasion. Ironically I saw his face in a doo-wop magazine in 1977, part of a group he sang with.

Here he is with Tom Roehm late '68 or early '69.
