Joseph Brunell Wilkins

OBITUARY

Joseph Brunell Wilkins, age 68, formerly of Aurora, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his son's home in Sheridan. He was born on November 13, 1947 in Greensboro, GA, the son of Clyde Manuel and Hattie Rue (Harper) Wilkins. Joseph was united in marriage to Patricia Burgess and they spent many happy years together until her passing. Mr. Wilkins proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War (71-72). He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Joseph Wilkins of Wichita, KS, Richard Wilkins of Somonauk, IL, Kimberly Wilkins of Joliet, IL, Michael (Angeleque) Wilkins of Sandwich, IL; step-daughter, Annette (Stew) Ames; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Eli Hinton Parker; his wife, Patricia Wilkins; and his sister, Betty Snell.
