OBITUARY |
Richard Robert Thompson Jr., (02 Sep 1947 - 28 Dec 2009), died peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was born in Bangor, and was a Vietnam veteran having served with the 101st Airborne Infantry Division. Richard married Arlene Bowden, May 10, 1974. Richard was an avid outdoorsman and truly enjoyed times shared hunting, fishing, ice fishing and camping with family. In the Maine Sportsman December 1980 issue, he was quoted "It was one of the best experience that my father and I have enjoyed together and I hope other fathers and sons get a chance to experience a moose hunt." He and his wife, Arlene, shared a special fishing expedition to Lake Ontario with his cousin, Gary Pinkham and his wife, Linda, and he especially enjoyed fishing on East Grand Lake. Above all else, Dick was a loving and devoted family man, who always put his family first. He was also a genuine, hardworking, straight-shooting guy and was employed as a machinist foreman for General Electric, retiring after 34 years of service. |
