OBITUARY

Thomas (Tommy) Ray Fisher, 60, of 1508 Haven Bend, Tampa, Florida, died January 17, 2010 after a brief illness. A native of Spartanburg County, son of John Ray Fisher of Tampa, Florida and Dorothy Taylor Adams of Greer, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. During his tour of Vietnam he was a member of the 101st Airborne Division having earned The Air Medal, Bronze Star, Army Commendation, and Purple Heart. Tommy was a former employee of Calvin-Boyd Machinery, a member of Victor Baptist Church, Greer, S.C., a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge #146, and a Hejaz Shriner. A special thanks to James B. Haley VA Hospital MICU staff and Chaplain Barby Wilson. Also surviving is a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and John Salzer of Lutz, Florida. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Ken Vickery. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors.
